Storyline

In the not too distant future androids have come into common usage. Taking the androids for granted, humans treat them as if they were common everyday tools, while on the other hand, some people empathize with androids due to their human-like appearance (save for a digital ring floating above their heads). This has become a social problem and these people are frowned upon as a result. Rikuo, one who has taken androids for granted for his entire life, one day discovers that Sammy, his home android, has been acting strangely and finds a strange phrase recorded in her activity log. He, along with his friend Masaki, traces Sammy's footsteps and come upon an unusual cafĂ©. Written by ...M@x...

Movie Reviews

Surprisingly amazing.

I heard about Time of Eve while scrolling through the sales on the Crunchyroll site. When I looked it up it got good ratings so I thought "Why not?" So I watched it. I was amazed. This is easily one of the best anime movies I have ever seen.

At the time I'd stopped watching anime, with the occasional Miyazaki movie. I found that most anime was loaded with too much nudity and unneeded sexual crap. However, watching Time of Eve restored my faith in anime. This movie couldn't have been done in live action, or it would have been ruined. The anime art style was fantastic, and the use of zooming in with the camera quickly for emphasis really added to the experience.

The story is very simple, and yet it portrayed a very good message in a very entertaining and heartfelt way. I found myself coming close to tears at various points, especially around the end. That's quite an achievement for someone like me.

The characters were my favorite part. There was just a small group of them and I felt like I really knew who they were by the end. They were all different in their own way, yet they fit so well together. Their relationships are fantastically developed, which is very important to me.

This movie is a must-see for all anime/former anime lovers. Its totally clean, save for one scene, so pretty much anyone could see it. The characters are well-developed and so are their relationships. It beautiful to look at and beautiful to watch. Everything about it is done right. By the end, there are several conflicts solved but still many left incomplete. It leaves you satisfied yet wanting more, but you don't feel ripped off or anything. Overall, this is a great movie that I would definitely recommend to anyone.
